It is time to say it … LOUD. I will no longer accept it. I will not wear the tag you placed and try and carry it. It is not my tag. It is not my responsibility. It is yours and placing it on me is shifting it so that you can continue to pretend righteousness. That is why you will not listen. That is why you defend. That is why you pretend grace in your superficial holiness while you condescend, while you roll your eyes, while you deflect. Yes I have a trust issue. My issue is that I find so few trustworthy. You celebrate the success of others and come close to them then run a mile at the threat of a failing when something goes bad. For so long I have kept quiet. I have waited and prayed and respectfully let things distil. But now I see and I see me and I see you and now I say NO! I will not be your victim on the cross. I will not hang there while you speak in soft tones saying “this could have been me” as you wring your hands in pretend sorrow. I see who you are now … weak and easily led. Seeking affirmation and status at the price of honesty and integrity. Sacrificing learning for ease. No. This is yours to wear not mine.
