Not long before my conception into humanity I was sitting with God. I remember watching him and marvelling at the purpose of his actions. he was picking priceless treasures and wrapping them up and placing them in boxes. he would then close the lid and lock it with a padlock and place the key into a sack. each box he placed within another box, then he would choose some more treasures, wrap them and box them, lock them and place the key within the sack. as there was no concept of time in that pre-birth realm, I don’t know how long I watched him doing this… it could have been for a year or for a million years. as the outer box got bigger and bigger, the keys matching the locks became more obvious. at last, curiosity got the better of me. ‘what are you doing?’ I asked. ‘What’s in that box and why so many locks and keys?’ “that’s your life’ he answered with a mysterious and joyful look on his face. ‘when you are born, you will remember nothing of this, but I have placed treasures over the journey of your life for you to discover. this will make your life both exciting and hard work. it will be an amazing journey of discovery. you may not recover all the treasures but each one you discover will build you up and will give you deeper value. all the locks have matching keys and your journey will be what will help you find the keys to unlock the wonders that I have hidden in your life to come. at first it may seem easy because I have left the more amazing discoveries to the end. so, you will need to stay on course, you will need to keep believing that everywhere you might find the treasure and you must never give up looking and trying to unlock the locks. some of the wrappings will are beautiful and some you will want to run away from. unwrap everything you find because in everything I have placed a treasure uniquely for you that will make you uniquely you … in everything. the keys I will store in your heart. they will not always be easy to find, but I assure you, I will make sure you have everything you need to get through to the last box. now, are you ready to begin?’ full of wonder and excitement I answered ‘yes … oh yes let’s start’ and then he smiled and told me … ‘I always start at the same place with everyone … I always start with complete love. every life, every beginning division of new life cell is the love of my own heart set in motion, no matter how passive or violent the union. it is to mark you in my love for your whole journey, no matter how easy or difficult, short or long it might be. may you always know in your heart that you are loved.’ And with that I went to sleep and forgot and my adventure began.
