I went past the old house today
The one I grew up in
but it wasn’t there anymore
at least it was completely changed
the only thing I recognised was the tree in the corner of the garden
the tree that grew out of a seed my parents planted and tended
but the house was changed
and the life it breathed when I lived there was now gone
a new life
a new heart
exist within it now
the old memories banished
new memories having been made within
sort of like me
I am not the same
Rooms shut down within and windows boarded up
The colours and gardens changed, and the hedges grown
A higher fence to border me in (or others out)
But still there
Different, yes
But still here
Bruised,
Restored
Stronger
Older
Wiser
More fragile yet more aware
And still giving
Something
The past is gone
There is only now
For now.
Looking back yet the start of a story 😉
Looking forward to reading more.
Thanks for sharing xo.

Love your first blog. I was not privy to the boy or teenager you were then, only the man you are now. And I am in continual amazement of the knowledge you possess and what you have achieved on behalf of the young man I hold truly dear…William…hold your head high!

I love this first blog. I am currently reading the Awesome book ‘Living Artfully’ by’ Sandra Magsamen on creating the life you imagine. She says at the start: I dedicate this book to the small acts of living, where the greatest joy is found. Your blog is just doing that !!
