We are all judges
And judged
We all of us
Form opinions
And never hold to those opinions
Based on fact alone
For even fact is coloured
And so cannot exist alone
There is pure fact
You might say
The sky is blue
Yet its shades and hues are always different
And seen from different angles
Through different eyes
Who can prove
The colour they perceive is
The true colour
How easy it is for us to judge others
And at the same time forget
That with every judgement
We view the other with our own values
Our own perceptions
Our own histories
Our own experiences
We never truly see pure fact
As we can only see through
The windows
Our own lives
Have provided
And so we superimpose ourselves
On others
Regardless of how ill fitting that may be on them
Even the law
We interpret
If anyone is found guilty
Are we all not included in that guilt somehow
Have we not all
In some way
Contributed
To the circumstances that bring about guilt
Is there such a truth
That one is guilty
And others innocent?
Is judgement
So black and white
When you judge
