BELONGING

For a long long time, I looked for a place of belonging. I searched places where others shared the same interests, where faith was a common denominator, and found no place. I searched in places where pain is drowned in pretence or substance and still, I found no home. I engaged with career and climbed the ladder to find no one there with soul, with heart. Then I sat by the river with me. Lost alone and different. Bruised, dented, chipped and damaged. And there I found home. Around me, I saw others… also bruised, dented, chipped and damaged. Letting go of the search, brought me home to a place of belonging among all those who also do not belong.
