Miracles, the way we perceive them, are only needed on two occasions. the first is when something is totally out of our control and we are unable to accept what is happening …because we are frightened or because we feel it is unjust or for whatever reason. the other times that we look for a miracle is when there is something happening that is within our control, but we don’t want to do the work of addressing the issue, such as addiction or relationship problems. science is slowly solving all our mysteries and at the same time, uncovering new ones. in time science might even have an answer to how everything works. there are only two things that science cannot resolve and that is life itself and death. we have come to understand how beings are created, how plants come to be. we know the processes, but we cannot explain life and nor control or stop death. and it is highly unlikely that science will ever be able to create life out of nothing. these remain the only true miracles … creation of life, cessation of life and the journey in between … the journey we measure with a concept we call time. (it is worthy to note that if something doesn’t have a beginning or a definite or expected end, then the measure of time cannot be applied to it). these are the only miracles of our time. the only real miracles. your and my presence in this particular place and time is miraculous. everything we are able to witness is miraculous. the seasons changing, stars being born and dying, floods and fires, birth and death, colour, breeze, discovery. all of these scream LIFE at us. reminding us that we are indeed alive. all of these remind us that we are interacting within, that we are, and that we are contributing to the miracle of life. what value is the miracle of life happening now, in, to and around you, to you? in a second, everything has changed and in another second everything has changed again … but are we too busy to see … to live this amazing miracle?
